Taken a couple of years ago, we had great fun with this wedding as the Bride, Groom, Best Man and most of the Bridesmaids were all P.E. Teachers. We set up a mini sports day, as this was something close to their heart's, and despite telling them to take it easy they really got stuck in!

If you look at the full sized version, you will notice that not only is the sled in the air, but she is in the air above the sled as well.

....as the sun begins to set clouds are lit with shades of fire.
The air is warm as a strong nor'west wind blows, music from Dire Straits - Telegraph Road drifts down the street as all doors and windows are wide open. BBQ's are lit, food is cooked and laughter can be heard as people mingle. Cats are out ready for the evening prowl as birds begin to roost. It's too hot to linger for long.....as the sun begins to set.

While walking past the harbour when the tide was out and it was getting close to sunset. I noticed someone digging on the harbour floor, it was just too odd a situation to let pass me by.
Went and got speaking to the kid who was digging, he was armed with a short, old and very battered garden fork. It's teeth bent out of shape from hitting hidden debris, and rusted from the sea water. He was also carrying a small red bucket, initially I thought he was using it to make sand castles not using it to house his catch.
He was polite, and happy to explain to me in great detail what they are used for, what fish enjoy them, how to catch lug-worm and where to look for them. I am very happy I decided to break the habit of a lifetime and go for a walk after work.
Several times a year the forces of the universe converge by the Yaquina Lighthouse near my home and create huge roller waves and a blue sky...I wait for these moments and always am in awe when I am there to see, hear, and feel this incredible energy...this is a collection of a few images I captured earlier this month on such a day...catching the green.

Catching the evening sun 37 148 is heading for Doncaster on the line from Rotherham, it is hauling a long tank train from the Midlands. 27/10/1982
37148 was built as D6848 and released to traffic 19/06/1963, it later became 37 902. Withdrawal came on 1st December 1998
It does not matter how you do it, as long as you tried to make a photo. A real need once coming to here. A good portrait at the windmills.

I think this is a winter plumed spotted sandpiper, but I am sure he was one of the more entertaining birds I have ever watched, as he bobbed and dipped and caught about 20 of these mayflies.
