By the grace of our Heavenly Father have survived breast cancer. Had been given a two year timeline that should have expired this past September, 2024... turned 60 in November and extremely happy and thankful...
A small low-key celebration with a bottle of de Bortoli sparkling shiraz to accompany our evening meal to express our relief and joy that a much-loved member of our extended family who has been struggling through chemo, has now been found to be free of cancer.
Living at opposite ends of the country and all of us still in a version of lock down, this was the best we could do for the time being.
October is breast cancer awareness month ...

Happy Friday
Thinking about October being cancer month. I've decided to share some stories of friends and family. Seems like the last 2yrs have been filled with it.
This is Jon
Jon is a wonderful man. I love him like a father.
I think about 7yrs ago he was told he had prostate cancer. His option was cut it out, or cut it out. This is a big decision for any man to make.
They told him they had taken it all and things would be good. However, his followup tests showed his PSA levels continued to climb.
So, now they think it's in his bones. Did he cry about it? Did he make up stories about people hurting his feelings? Nope,,
They moved to Arizona and he bought a shinny Red Corvette. They drive it everywhere. Road trips to Montana, Washington, all over. He likes to go fast and told me he isn't worried if he gets a ticket as he won't live long enough to lose his license. He's living life one day at a time.. He's my hero.
He never talks about it, doesn't let it ruin his life. What an amazing example of a man and friend. Happy Trails Jon, see you soon..
For a cure.
Steve, John, Denise, Jon, Tina, Jane, Dad, Carolyn...And to everyone else.
My dear family member is
now on the bed of death…
However, he is the cancer fighter .
I won't give up anything

Câncer
Vamos chorar?
-Aquele dia você não me ofereceu pastel. Você é egoísta, não pensa nos outros.
E você fica ali pasmado, tentando entender aquilo.
Rsrsrsrsrsrrsrsrrs.
Who was that masked man?
For 37 days I spent 20 minutes a day pinned to a table with this mask as I received 11 one-minute radiation exposures at each session.
Yes, this is the same photo used in the head and neck cancers article on wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_and_neck_cancer
Bell 1) Breast cancer 2012.
Bell 2) sternum 2015.
Bell 3) spine 2016 today.
This journey is not over. I will always have to go through radiation treatments whenever one of the tumors acts up. I'm still going through chemo.
With Pep by my side, and so many goals to fulfill, I will keep on fighting for as long as I can. A friend shared this with me today, something I needed a reminder of.

- Though some depictions of Cancer feature a lobster, the sign is most often represented by the crab, based on the Karkinos, a giant crab that harassed Heracles during his fight with the Hydra.
- Cancer is the fourth of the 12 signs of the zodiac, which begins its cycle at the start of summer during Cancer season - which falls around June 21-July 22.
- It’s important to understand the energy of this sign, as various planets travel (or “transit”) through Cancer all year long, activating this sign’s watery energy for everyone, regardless of your Sun sign.

This is my daughter, Jill. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer when she was 3 years old. I posted this picture to honor her. Jill was a fighter through her surgery and then continued the battle with chemo and radiation treatments. She is an inspiration to us and we are extremely thankful that we still have her with us! ...Never stop smiling! :)

October is breast cancer month.Breast cancer is a disease that has many forms and affects both men and women. The cancer not only affects the people diagnosed with it, but the families of those loved ones. Many people lose their family members and friends to this horrid disease. Many people acknowledge that breast cancer exists, and accept the fact that it exists. Its time we acknowledge the problem and reject its existence. Its existence is not okay as it not only harms people’s bodies, but takes their lives away. It is time to do something. Sadly, research is expensive.
Throughout this month, this blog will post facts about breast cancer and post pictures that can be bought. The money that the pictures collect will go towards breast cancer research and awareness funds. The prints can be bought at any price you wish to donate ( minimum 6$). If you are interested in donating, leave a message in the ask box or flickr message me and I will get back to you with more details. It is time to do something about this disease. It is time to put an end to its reign of terror. It is time to act.
During treatment, there were days when Robin couldn't get out of bed. She passed the time by dreaming about ways to become more creative with her photos, and photography soon became a welcome escape from the reality of her battle with cancer. She began following conceptual portrait photographers on Flickr and became inspired by their work. "I immediately knew that this was a world I needed to be a part of."
Explore her entire story on the Flickr Blog and check out Robin's photostream.
Cancer. Will always be lurking in the background. Won't it? Only the lucky ones will whip it in the butt once in their lives. Some will have to go to war again. Because Cancer will not give up, thinks you are weak. This little flower may look fragile, been through brutal storms and damaging winds, looks can be deceiving. Her stem is strong! Her petals may weaken and fly off when the windy storm hits. But her stem is STRONG! You will not, you can not break her. She beat you down once, now she's going to destroy you because you messed with the wrong flower.
Yes. I am that flower......
