HAIL CAESAR: Caesar Augustus, the first Roman Emperor, born 63 BC, and was grand-nephew and heir of Julius Caesar.

He obtained supreme power over Roman dominions by victory over Anthony at Actium in 31 BC. Proclaimed Emperor, 27 BC, by the Roman Senate, which confered on him the title Augustus, he died AD 14 in his 76th year.

Everything else on the tray is from my Executive Class meal. (I gave the main entree to my boyfriend because I didn't want it).

Caesar takes advantage of the sunny sky to sunbathe one last time before summer is over and the weather turns cool. I pointed out to him that there was no point in working on a suntan when you are only shades of gray and never have any color anyway. I think I upset him because he mumbled something about how he'll soon show me how much color he's got!

He's an off-duty k9 veteran dog, He's super cute, like everyone who's ready to play fetch. He is Caesar!

He was located at the corner of Broad and College in downtown. In 2010, most of the "dawgs" were sold for charity and moved from downtown.

Caesar is a ventriloquist's dummy with big ideas. He must have watched too many gangster movies and, as a result, developed a talent for manipulating humans into committing crimes. The star of the 1964 Twilight Zone episode Caesar and Me now resides at the bottom of a dark elevator shaft in the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

It's interesting to me when a chain restaurant pulls out of a town and then reappears again after a few years, which is what happened with Little Caesars in Gloucester County. For two decades they were a tenant of the York River Crossing center in Hayes, opening during the chain's boom in the late 1980s and surviving the massive purge of company-owned locations in the area in July 1999 (that location and single locations in Newport News and Hampton were the only survivors out of about a dozen). Then one day in August 2008 they permanently closed without warning, during a period in the company where they seemed to be floundering (I never saw TV commercials for them back then, for example). Little Caesars bounced back in a major way in the 2010s, which is when franchisee Tidewater Pie came along and brought them back to Gloucester, this time in the Courthouse area. They occupy this corner space, which never really seemed to be designed for restaurant use but Tidewater Pie made it work. They were even able to install a drive-thru window on the right side back in 2020! It's good to have them back in town.
