This is a sunny delectable salad made with fresh coral lettuce and cooked Japanese cucumbers, button mushrooms, capsicums dressed with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese.
Both Rika and her dad planned and shopped for this Mother's Day meal at home. Rika did all the cooking with some help from her dad. I was specifically told to stay out of the kitchen for a day~ YH contributed in a different way since he can’t cook.
It's all boiling nicely and I'll be cooking it for hours. Then I thought...I should make a video of boiling chili, that will be interesting to see. I don't have anything else to do anyway...Chong told me to clean the floor, but I said I'd to it tomorrow night.

I could be wrong about this one but there are not many green mushrooms. I'd have to put some water on it to see if it turns "tacky". as the name implies.
Food fusion, east meets west: Rika just pan-fried the sirloin beef to medium well and sliced them. She did not use pickled pork or bacon in this dish and instead of burgundy wine she used Port to cook the onions and button mushrooms. The onions turned out to be really sweet! For the rice, she just cooked it with garlic, turmeric and salt. Thumbs up for this meal! :) - Jenny
I stirred in the chili mix than added one more thing that I almost forgot about. I like to dump in thick and chunky salsa. I checked and could only find this jar in the fridge and it didn't have very much left, oh well, I dumped it in.
A lighter version of this true classic comfort foods. Loaded with 3 different kinds of mushrooms and a good dose of wild rice, this soup is so good, thick and creamy, it's hard to believe it's actually good for you! Recipe to come on foodobsessed.ca
I used the empty cans to put more water in the chili pot. I used three cans, but should have only used two of them. It's not a real big deal, but it will be less thick than I usually like it. Hopefully Chong won't notice and complain about it being too watery.
The original is made from veal but I used turkey thus it's a bit of a fake. Nonetheless our yesterday's dinner was very delicious.

Das Original wird mit Kalbfleisch gemacht, ich habe aber Pute genommen, darum ist das eigentlich eine Fälschung. Trotzdem war unser gestriges Abendessen sehr lecker.

Ingredients: gnocchi, mushrooms (button and oyster mushrooms), onions, garlic, red bell pepper, tomato sauce, Italian herbs, salt and pepper, red pepper flakes, garnished with chopped, parsley and chives
Beef mince that is supposed to be cooked with "garam masala", peas and pineapples went into this meal! Rika has not got enough of beef yet!
Shown here is what Rika cooked before going to work. A yummy breakfast of omelette with stir-fried button mushrooms with herbs. Just like ER said: She has the flair when she cooks eggs. Most of the time, the eggs she cooked came out soft and moist.
Adding the chili powder. I used two bags of this McCormack brand. It's not super hot like it's labeled though. There's lots of different brands you can buy and some are better than others. They are mostly corn starch with cumin and some red pepper in them and a few dried onions. I could make it myself, but this is easier and I'm lazy.
