Bouvigne Castle, locally known as Kasteel Bouvigne, lies in a forest south of the city of Breda, in the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands.
Bouvigne Castle was first mentioned in 1554 as the property of a Jan van Brecht. It was described as a stately moated house. It had been built in 1548 by Jan to replace an older house. At that time it was called "Boeverie" or "Boeverijen" and was used as a farm. In the remainder of the 16th century the castle was enlarged until it got its present appearance.

I’ve just read a comment from a photographer who said it’s time to stop shooting in black and white. He claimed we don’t see the world in black and white and it was something only done in the past due to the limitations at the time and it’s time to move on. Here’s a number of reasons why I think it’s critical to shoot black and white from time to time, and how it can help nurture your photographic eye.
Ansel Adams, Cartier Bresson, David Bailey, Karsh, Sebastio Salgado, Albert Watson, Peter Lindbergh, Herb Ritts, Irving Penn, Daidō Moriyama, Sally Mann, Avedon – the list of master photographers, alive or dead, who saw black and white not simply as a technical limitation but as a creative choice, could be an entire article in itself. But why did they choose it?
Here are some key reasons:
1. Color No Longer Distracts
2. You’ll See Light Differently
3. It Helps Emphasize Emotion
4. The Timeless / Classic Quality From Black And White
5. It Amplifies How You Use Negative Space
6. It Highlights Shape, Form and Pattern In The Image
7. To Highlight Beauty and Skin Tones
8. It Helps Focus On Composition
So What About Color?
The argument of not shooting black and white because it’s a thing of the past is a little odd to me, especially given that color photography is not necessarily a modern invention. Kodachrome for 35mm cameras has been around since the 1930s. The far more interesting (and possibly meaningful question) may be:“Why is black and white still so prevalent today, given we've been able to shoot color for so long?”.
I still shoot color and love playing with it, but I certainly enjoy the challenge and creative push from shooting in black and white.

Der älteste Beginenhof der Niederlande befindet sich In der Altstadt von Breda und kann auf eine fast 750-jährige Geschichte zurückblicken.
Das ist eine Oase der Ruhe mit Beginenwohnungen, Kräutergarten, Kirche und Pfarrei.

Hartje Breda op een vrijdagavond, het was er mega druk, maar hier was even een heel klein moment dat er niemand die voor mijn lens liep ;-)

Het Chassé Theater is een groot theater in de binnenstad van Breda, naast de oude Kloosterkazerne. Het theater is vernoemd naar de legerofficier David Hendrik Chassé. Het is gehuisvest in een modern gebouw met een opvallend golvend dak naar een ontwerp van Herman Hertzberger, dat uit 1995 dateert. Het theater bestaat uit drie theaterzalen, drie filmzalen en drie restaurants. Het theater ontvangt jaarlijks zo'n 400.000 bezoekers. Voorloper van het Chassé Theater was de Stadsschouwburg Concordia.

De Sint-Antoniuskathedraal (ook Sint-Antoniuskerk genoemd) is de kathedrale kerk van het bisdom Breda in de Sint-Jansstraat in Breda. De kathedraal is gewijd aan de heilige Antonius van Padua. De kathedraal bevindt zich in het centrum van Breda niet ver van de Grote Markt.
De Sint-Antoniuskerk is een zogenaamde Waterstaatskerk, een kerk waarvan de bouw grotendeels betaald werd door de landelijke overheid en om die reden onder toezicht stond van ingenieurs van Waterstaat. De kerk werd gebouwd in 1837 naar een ontwerp van architect Pieter Huijsers in de toen gebruikelijke neoclassicistische stijl. Dit uit zich aan de buitenkant voornamelijk in de voorgevel. Drie soorten zuilen uit de klassieke oudheid zijn duidelijk te onderscheiden: van onder naar boven Dorisch, Ionisch en Korinthisch. Het fronton onder de klokkenstoel lijkt op een Griekse tempel. Het bovenste torentje lijkt op een Romeins of Grieks liefdestempeltje.
De kerk werd gebouwd als parochiekerk maar werd in 1853, na het herstel van de bisschoppelijke hiërarchie, de eerste kathedraal van het bisdom. Maar de Antonius hield niet lang de kathedrale waardigheid. In 1876 werd de Sint-Barbarakerk tot kathedraal gewijd. Na de sluiting van deze kerk in 1968 ging de titel naar de later gesloopte Sint-Michaelkerk in het Brabantpark. Sinds 1 januari 2001 is de Antoniuskerk opnieuw kathedraal, op verzoek van bisschop Muskens.
Tijdens de Dag van de Bedevaart vindt in de Antoniuskerk een eucharistieviering plaats.
