A sister in my bookstudy had an old k1000 with lenses she doesn't use. I'm stoked about these ones:
pentax 80-200mm 4.5
pentax 135mm 2.5...
mostly the 135
Our hall is all nice and built, but we are still unable to meet there. For the time being, we are holding the WT study and Public Talk by bookstudy groups. Our school and service meeting is being held in Angela's backyard, as seen above.
Weekly meditation [za-zen, seated Zen-style practices], followed by book study, are some ways that people in the area are welcome to see what the Buddhist center is about these days. Through a particular set of circumstances in the social changes that ebb and flow in the USA, along with the particular personalities of authors and interpreters engaging with others around the country, somehow it is the Zen-style of Buddhism that more often seems present in each part of the country. Tibetan-style Buddhism also is prominent. Both come from the Mahayana tradition of East Asia rather than the Hinayana way that predominates in Southeast and South Asia.

In England we visited Keith's Tricker's house in Bishop's Stortford, where Tina used to go 41 years before for the bookstudy! Keith is next to Tina.
My dad gave me the red one a few years ago. And my bookstudy conductor just gave me the green one. One of his relatives found it in their garage. I put a few dollars into it and it's ready to race.
we attend the bookstudy book here at the Cheng's. Every week there are 25 some that attend including studies and their kids. 13 children! and some are missing! So we rely on them for comments!!!
After our Book Study, we eat snacks like Macaroni salad, Fried Bananas, Spaghetti, Biscocho, and Hopia Mongo.
We had cereal night after the bookstudy on Tuesday. We told everyone to bring their favorite cereal and we all shared and tried each others. It was fun! These were Eric's choices.....YUM!
We were assigned to Tommy & Dianne Hoffman's bookstudy. As pictured here we are at there house with the speaker as kind of a good-bye to the bookstudy arrangement as well as feeding the speaker and his wife (who is at the left end). Sis. Hoffman(not Dianne ) is in the middle and her daughter Shontay (not featured who is also my new bff) brought her study (the young girl at the right end).
There is nothing fantastic about this picture but it is one of the reasons I will be so sad when home bookstudy is no more. I will miss warm Tuesday evening meetings on the deck and the super cold nights during winter when the fireplace is going. And treat night. I LOVE treat night! :)
