A visual ode to and drawn during this three-minute gem from the blur of the mid-90s. They are....they are a drunken bird...flying...into the windows...
April 16, 2011 -- Birdbrains. Taken at the Seattle Flickr Meetup Union Bay Natural Area photostroll.
After seeing a really wonderful short film showing a murmuration of starlings, I've been a total birdbrain. We took a trip to the Somerset levels this afternoon, met with a large group of twitchers and some RSPB staff who were all waiting in the marshes until dusk. Will post my shots soon... I witnessed a real spectacle of nature tonight.
Finished hand embroidery on denim. This is going to be a very late Christmas present. Need to sew the pouch! Free embroidery pattern by Birdbrain designs.
Daily Mail - April 13th 2012 - Firefighters wouldn't go into a lake to rescue a bird because of Health and Safety.
Not sure exactly what these 4 were waiting for -- but I found them all lined up outside my window underneath my (full) birdfeeder. They were too funny - so of course, I had to get a picture!
It's the year 2099 and the Earth's atmosphere has deteriorated to the point where the birds have to wear space helmets. The sparrow is thinking "Will my helmet even fit in that door?" I hope I never live to see that day. CLICK on the above image for the LARGE size.

Monstructor Monday (Day 6 of 8)
This Transformers figure is Birdbrain, from the Generation 1 line, released in 1989. It is complete and in excellent condition. From Transformers Wiki: "His simple transformation to beast mode is similar to that of Bristleback. He comes with his shell, shell plate, a small gun, and Monstructor's waistplate. "
I like this view of the cardinal better. It looks like he is flying straight into the house. But I like the early morning lighting in the other one.
dude REALLY went for the camera. hated to be photographed. i've never seen such self-conscious waterfowl.
After alighting on my wing mirror and looking up and over on the other side, it swivels its head and stares directly at me. The wagtail seems curious about the strange shape that dwells inside the structure. However it could be that it is looking at its own reflection and wondering why this Wagtail dares to stare at it, as it is, master of the realm.
This was shot from a precarious position. I jumped up on one of the concrete posts dotted around the pond and very carefully snapped a couple of shots. I just about managed to balance there for a few minutes! See the two black swans everyone else was shooting?
From left to right: Donal, Ryan, Kevin, Katie and Sean spotted me and started shooting the biggest birdbrain there ..
