The population density of Bald Eagles at Telegraph Cove was nothing like I've ever seen (though I haven't been to Goldstream during a salmon run yet). Of course not all of these are eagles, but you couldn't go 50m in any direction without seeing one perched or soaring through the woods.
To drink or not to drink? Some say it is more ethical to drink local wines because they are not transported as far and therefore (allegedly) contribute fewer greenhouse gases than imported wines. These vineyards are often on grounds that have been converted from old orchards, but sometimes new areas are cleared. The perfect grape ground in the Okanagan is, unfortunately, the shrubbe steppes. More specifically, often Antelope-brush shrub steppe - one of the most endangered ecosystems in Canada. I guess the best solution is to drink no wine at all. I'm considering making my own mead from local honey as soon as I get my own place. Although I suppose honeybees are not native here either, and probably visit (and therefore pollinate) invasive wildflowers... Any suggestions?

A 3.2 megapixel Polaroid. Pretty much the same quality photos for $20 less, and the camera is quite a bit quicker at charging the flash and saving photos. Not to mention that the scanner/camera wizard recognizes this one, so you don't need software to download photos. Still take AAA's so will still be useful for outings where I won't have access to an outlet to charge my Elph.
