De normaalspoorlijn van Spiez naar Interlaken loopt na Interlaken-Ost nog verder door langs de Untere Bönigstrasse naar het oorspronkelijke eindpunt. De reizigersdienst naar Bönigen bestaat al lang niet meer, maar op de plaats van het toenmalige kopstation en emplacement bevindt zich nu een werkplaats van de BLS.
