A heron stands motionless in one of the lakes at our local Nature Reserve. I stood and watched for quite a while, but he (or she) hardly moved, so great was the concentration required to catch something edible. This is one of the smaller lakes at Plantsbrook Nature Reserve, only a short distance away from home. Once again, I'm so happy to have had Marnie with me, she doesn't frighten wildlife and waits patiently while I take photographs 😃. She's the perfect companion.

Mission complete. Pretty tired from a long drive home, I'll start to catch up later today. I tried a little before uploading this, but Flickr seems very slow. Nap time.

Charlie needed a lot of breaks and a couple hotel stays but we made the 40-hour drive in 56 hours. Yesterday we did St. Louis, MO to central Massachusetts, which was a bit much.

Home away from home seemed like a fitting title since many people live on their sailboats on occasion. The sun was behind my left shoulder burning through the morning fog casting it's golden light on the hulls of these sailboats which were reflected off the amazingly calm water.

Mission Beach

Far from home.

I liked the dramatic sky and the tree silhouette's. There is a water tower behind the school.

Belleview Christian School has been operating since 1920 and is affiliated with the Pillar of Fire International which was founded in 1901 .

Lets keep up with this series. I am away from home this week, so I can't make heavy processing. So you'll have some simple shots (that are destinated to instagram), but I'll post some larger/better/nicer panorama soon on Flickr !

We all have our pilgrimage : I hope derborence will be one of them for long. It's one the most enchanted/wild/magical place I know in Switzerland, and I never regreted a ride there (and what a ride!!) ... I took very similar pictures in spring with the fresh green, now it was time to catch the warm of fall. Probably the last shots for me of this beautiful season ...
