This piece has already found a home and is not available.
This small series of 3 are all done in the same colors but with a different feel to each. They were painted in conjunction with a current series that I am still working on. Same colors (as I seemed to have mixed up vats of the colors), but completely different set of parameters for this three than the series. In these I am not trying to encapsulate sadness (which is proving difficult for a usually cheerful person).
An abstract landscape is unusual for me, so is definately an experiment.
And I have to say a huge "Thank You" to everyone who takes the time to look at the work. Even greater thanks to those who like and comment. Really, it is a gift in this time and place that we can circumvent the gatekeepers.
Nasce dal monte Croce di Pruno (m 1041) col nome di fiume di Pruno. Viene ingrossato dalle acque scendenti dal monte Faiatella (m. 1410), dal monte Pietra Alta (m 1324), dai monti di Vallivona (m 1452). Da Rofrano ad Alfano prende il nome di fiume Faraone. Sfocia nel mare Tirreno presso Capo Palinuro e segna il confine tra il comune di Centola con quello di Camerota.
Born from Mount Cross of Pruno (m 1041) with the name of river Pruno. It is enlarged by the waters scendenti from Mount Faiatella (m. 1410), from Mount
Pietra Alta (m 1324), from the mountains of Vallivona (1,452 m). From Rofrano to Alfano is called Faraone river. It places in the Tyrrhenian Sea at Cape Palinuro and marks the boundary between the town of Centola with that of Camerota.

The background picture was a reddish gazania flower that I had tinted to a medium toned blue. I edited it a lot from there, and then ran it through a kaleidoscope filter. The fractal heart was created in Apophysis.

These are petals of giant Chilhuly made [glass] flowers which adorn the lobby ceiling at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas.......
Dedicated to me*voila who upon finding out I was off to Vegas wrote "enjoy all you see!! And please take a pic ( a Julian!) for me from that incredible chandelier (Chihuly) that is in one of those hotels". So I did.

This piece used the leftover paint from the limited color palette of Cerulean Blue, Cadmium Orange Dark, Black, and White. There is always room for iridescent gold and Perl.
It was made using the properties of the watercolor paper wetted down with the acrylics thinned and flowing. I was able to work it into something that I really liked, but it could as easily have been a muddy mess.
For me it is a tree, others see what they will.

Actually, the person who purchased this painting sees beaches, ocean, and land with flowers. They hung it upside down from the way that it is displayed here because they felt the ocean/beach view so strongly.
I still found and see the huge old tree.

The general feeling with pastel colours is one of openness, softness, calmness and composure. This image taken on Lake Windermere, for me, conveys some of these emotions. A dreamy scene....
