The architecture shoot last Sunday turned out to be more of a street photography shoot. It was unusual seeing people in low energy state in South Mumbai.
The 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD from Tamron is a versatile zoom for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Covering ultra-wide to wide focal lengths, this lens is particularly suitable for landscape, astrophotography, and architectural shooting. Its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture complements this range and affords increased control over depth of field along with enhanced low-light performance. Individual elements also feature Tamron’s BBAR coating, which suppresses flare and ghosting for greater contrast when working in backlit and harsh lighting conditions.

I took these on the way to work over the last couple of weeks a little insight into other peoples' lives.
I have been thinking recently about doing a project based on Cambridge but not the boring and over photographed 'Kings College by night/day/dusk/dawn" (you get the idea!) More inspired by photos like this, shop windows, and normal Cambridge life. Because, believe it or not; people live in Cambridge who have nothing to do with the University! I have already photographed Fitzbillies and the robe shop.
This also stems from the black and white architectural shoot I did which was specifically commissioned not to include cheesy 'Cambridge' shots:
carolinehancox.blogspot.com/2009/11/black-and-white-cambr...
and also this project:
which I am going to be representing Cambridgeshire.
I'll post more as this project develops

This is the grounds building in the Sumnerville Cemetery in Cass County, Michigan.
Nine exposure HDR in 1 stop increments. Tripod mounted Canon EOS 60D, merged and tonemapped in Nik HDR Efex Pro, finished with Percep Tool.
Why nine exposures? I was testing a technique I learned online from an architectural shooter to get that many stops out of a Canon in less than ten seconds. Canon will only autobracket three exposures, compared to Nikon's five. So, no reason other than that. But the detail on this is incredible. Look at it full size and marvel at the spiders on the door....

I'm spending the remainder of the week in Cancun assisting on an architectural shoot at a beachside resort home. It's my first time on the Yucatan and it's just about as close to paradise as one can imagine. Taggart lies in a mosquito net covered bed on our first night.
Crieff is the third largest town in Perthshire after Perth and Blairgowrie. Addison Terrace and the streets round about it can be thought of as Crieff's "old new town" -- built in the early part of the 20th century -- after the grand Victorian terraces in the upper town, but before the more modern houses on the outskirts of the town.

Interesting experiment today -- took a macro lens along on an architectural shoot just for kicks -- not yet clear whether the results where a success -- came home with some interesting compositions, but it's entirely likely that the general focus will suck on the whole batch (which is only to be expected when one is shooting long with a macro, I suppose).
Oh well: no pain, no gain.
