Vi si trovano, infatti, circa 50 cisterne e pozzi a gradini chiamati “Baori”
Questo in particolare, chiamato “Rani Jiki Baori” o “ Pozzo della Regina”, è sicuramente il più bello per l’accuratezza della sua architettutìra.
Fu costruito nel 1699 da Rani Nathawat Ji la consorte di Rao Raja Anirudh, signore di Bundi che si distinse in diverse campagne militari nel Deccan e Afganishtan.
I baori, a quei tempi, erano il centro delle funzioni religiose e sociali .
Si ritiene che la Rani Nathawat Ji abbia fatto costruire circa venti di questi pozzi durante il regno di suo figlio Maharao, Raja Budh Singh che governò Bundi dal 1695 al 1729.
Bundi is known as the “City of Stepwells”. It has about fifty beautiful tanks and stepwells called “Baori”
This one knon as “Rani Jiki Baori”or “Queen Stepwell” which is the best because of it’s architectcural beauty.
It was built in 1699 by Rani Nathawat Ji, the queen of Rao Raja Anirudh Singh of Bundi who distinguished himself in the imperial campaigns ofAurangzeb in the Deccan, in the seize of bijapur and also saw service in Afganishtan.
Baoris used to be the center of religious and social fuctions in those days, the Rani Nathawat Ji, is reputed to have built twentyon such as baoris, the Baori was constructed during the reign of her son Maharao, Raja Budh Singh who ruled Bundi from 1695 to 1729.

Soumya Nadkarni lives a wealthy lifestyle in Mumbai along with her dad, Anirudh, and mom, Suhasini. She is a Science student in Second Year Junior with I.B. Institute, and is a fan of Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt. As a child she had her appendix removed, and as an adult is terrified of surgical needles. When her boyfriend, Ninad Kamat, participates in a blood donation drive, she decides to overcome her fears, and does donate blood. She then appears for her final exams, but becomes seriously ill on the last day. She is examined by Dr. S.D. Potnis, who advises complete bed rest, and suspects she may have Malaria. Her fever persists for two months, and she undergoes more medical tests. Then her fever subsides, but Anirudh finds out that his daughter is HIV positive. Devastated, he confides in Suhasini, and they decide to keep this information to themselves. But when Soumya finds out, she decides to live a normal life, and insists on getting married to Ninad. Watch what impact this will have on the Kamat family, and this will be just one of many challenges the Nadkarnis will have to face when their friends will shun them, and their daughter will be refused admission to the hospital of her choice.
