A shot from earlier this year I never posted. I will probalby post several from the previous year which I never got up. Mabye I will take a new picture in 2010. I really like the stained glass window in the background in this shot. I still need to get up a blog. I have several ideas for articles that will be helpful. I was also thinking about putting together a 365 bookand currently trying to find the cheapest option ($$$ not quality). Hope everyone is having a great new year so far.

(Very weird not posting photos to my 365 set)

The idea behind the project was to show the work usually unseen - the work of the retouchers.

Usually, the value of the retouchers effort remains imperceptible, as we all know the “good retouch should be unnoticeable”, and often left unmentioned.

So, the darker part of diptychs represents “healing” - the essential process of repairing the imperfection of skin, removing stray hair, cleaning sensor dust, correcting make-up artist’s mistakes etc.

The magnitude of “healing” was amplified for better clearness and the colors were tweaked to match the final image.

Retouchers: Yuri Hahhalev, Vitaliy Urazov, Lara Chrome.

MUAs: Kristina Savich, Ksenia Linjova, Lidija Malinovskaja, Anna Baranova, Natalia Shishkina.

Models: Alissa, Aleksandra, Alisa, Dasha, Getrud, Kathrin, Andra.

Photography: Yuri Hahhalev.

Waiting for the sun to cast the high-lights was worth it. From a B&W perspective I like how this turned out. The textures, tones and details were just what I envisioned. Alissa’s pose really brought the composition together. Thanks Alissa for a very energetic and interesting shoot :-)
