Finally finished the refurbishment of the P&H Scorpio and took it out for my first foray.
What I have done:
1. Got rid of the stupid stickers;
b. Replaced all the shock cord, as they were perished; and
iii. refurbished the hatch covers with 303 UV protectant
"Afloat" is the official name of this sculpture in Brighton, however it is known locally as the "Brighton Donut".
September 04, 08: There was barely anyone at the zoo today. Most of the animals were more active than i've seen them in recent weeks.
If you enjoyed this, check out my other animal photos here --> www.flickr.com/photos/fpat/collections/72157606769846171/
Does this sunset sauna raft look familiar? If so, then perhaps it's because I've published another photo of it, which has become one of my most viewed.
Spotted on the Chicago River on a January afternoon. One cool way to fight the elements. Air temp was 38°F (3°C) at the time.
The Ship, St Cuthbert's St., Bedford [52.137515, -0.462945]
This pub apparently has a 450 year history but its present structure is listed as
"Cl7 or Cl8. Pebble dash, tiles. 2 storeys, 3 sliding flush casements.
2 ground floor canted bays with sashes. Door surround, bracketed hood."
The Ship, as a pub name in England, often originated as The Ark but when Henry VIII broke with Rome, and was busy destroying monasteries, pubs were anxious to shed any links with Catholicism. Interestingly, in the following century, John Buyan, preacher and author of The Pilgrim's Progress, lived for awhile just a few doors away in this street and was imprisoned for preaching non-conformist views.

for 7DoS: A boat person might tell me that boats are in the water, not on top of it, but the masts are on top of the boats, aren't they?
I'm taking plenty of gouache stuff with me.....this sort of family craziness is great for painting. 8" x 6" gouache/my old show invitations.

Trying out my new super-zoom camera ...
Water lilies being buffeted by the waves in Lake May make a pretty design.
Still sorting this out as these smaller cameras seem to produce noisier images. But I love the light weight of this camera for walking around and it has oodles of such cool features. Wish I could have won that lottery Saturday and then I wouldn't have to choose!! Just get everything!! ;-)
Happy Monday morning, Flickr world!!
Day 23 of the 30 day challenge. This is one of the many oleander flowers floating in our pool. I have been in poor mood recently and find it hard to go shoot beautiful things. I seem drawn to the dead, dying, and decaying. Funny how life dictates art so often. By the way the pool water is very yellow due to all the pollen :(
