My very first doll. He is already over four years old....how quickly the time passes! I gave him a new look and I think he's finally how he was meant to be.
This is our newest horse. The Dutch Warmblood stallion Adonis. He just turned 3 years old. His height is 16. 2 hands. Matterhorn x Boreas

According to Puro Instinct vocalist Piper Kaplan, "We recently got back from a very wholesome North American tour with Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and Magic Kids. No one got arrested and we made it to every show." Ahem. For your enjoyment Piper and her guitarist-sister Sklyar and the whole P.I. army recently stopped by Room 205 to perform a few spaced-out dream jams from that "very wholesome" tour.
BIO
Founding Puro Instinct (formerly Pearl Harbor) members Piper and Skylar Kaplan began playing together in the summer of '08 with no experience and no idea what they were getting themselves into. After a year or so, they put together a proper band (Dodi Porter, Jessie Clavin, Mike Baum, and Crazy Murray) to begin crafting their ethereal pop confections. Armed with a barrage of gorgeously intertwining guitar lines, vocals drenched in swooning reverb, and a subtle tsunami of dark synth melodies, Puro Instinct aim to release their debut full-length on Mexican Summer in Spring 2011. If you've ever wondered what it might sound like if Nico were to start a band with Felt on a beach in Malibu, here you go.

A visit to Martin Down is always guaranteed to produce some memorable butterfly sightings :)
Is this not one of the most beautiful hood ornaments you have ever seen (and Packards had exceptionally lovely hood ornaments)? This rare-ish (1930-31 only) hood ornament was meant to depict a boy dipping his toes in the stream of air (he looks too young to be Adonis). A fitting crown for a majestically beautiful car. Larger.
1931 Packard Sport Phaeton (dual cowl) 833 8-cylinder, also known as the "Dietrich Body Style", after Packard's body stylist Raymond Dietrich.
Found by a collector on a Los Angeles used car lot in 1961, this car had originally been purchased from the Earl C. Anthony Packard Agency, "supplier of spectacular cars for the Hollywood stars" (wouldn't you LOVE to know who the original owner was?). The new owner spent over two years having the car fully restored. This particular 833 offers spoke wheels, wider running boards, and a stone deflector grill cover.
This car not only features the beautiful and limited edition Adonis hood ornament, it boasts a V-frame windshield, Ventipane fly windows, and a hand-finished Burl wood instrument panel, to say nothing of the second windshield inside the car meant to protect rear-seat passengers. I believe this car's eight cylinders provide 100 hp, with a displacement of standard Eight, 319 cubic inches. Vrooom.
At the moment (or in the recent past, I'm not too familiar with these websites), a similar '31 Packard is being auctioned off, with an estimated expected price of $150,000-$250,000, and another is for sale in Canada for $155K or best offer.
This is a male Adonis Blue (Lysandra/Polyommatus bellargus) basking in the morning sunshine among a bramble thicket. I know it's not an off-centre crop but the pattern of bramble branches seemed better balanced like this.
Arguably the most beautifully coloured British blue butterfly, reflected in the name Adonis, the beautiful youth in Greek mythology. The name bellargus is a bit of an oxymoron; bella meaning beautiful, whereas Argus was the creature with a hundred eyes.
Adonis Blues are restricted to warm chalk or limestone hillsides in the south of England. Always much rarer than the Chalkhill Blue, although its numbers have increased in recent years. Their caterpillars feed on Horseshoe Vetch on short-cropped turf.
