Actually Christmas lights bokeh.
I used Kim Klassen's silentnight texutre, with overlay blending mode and Kim's newest brush. What fun!
Actually it was an ordinary sunset shot turned upside down. I had a feeling that the city light acting as stars from outer space.
Actually went to a baseball game. Not a big baseball fan, but it was fun nonetheless. Met a lot of nice people. Interesting stadium. The Brewers put on a good show. Their star player Christian Yelich hit three home runs too. He's pretty good.
Photography not as good. Hard to take pictures from the stands, even though we were right behind the third base dugout. Need to be on the field with an unobstructed viewpoint. A 500MM lens would also help. Only the press can bring a lens like that into the stadium.
I think I've identified everyone as best I could. It was hard to do because everyone was wearing number 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson, it being a day in his honor. Jackie Robinson was the first player to break the racist color barrier that dominated the game for so long. He's rightly in the Hall of Fame.
This is actually the most highly photoshopped image I've ever put on the internet...
As a budding photojournalist I avoid anything other than adjusting brightness, contrast and a bit of burning and dodging in my images.
This photo, however, had two other people in that I removed because they ruined the effect of having a lady standing in the rain with an umbrella infront of a sunny mural.
One was standing just behind the lady to our right, you can see where there is some ghosting left behind that I was unable to completely eliminate. Luckily, the background being Tarpaulin, I could totally get away with that being a wind ripple.....
The other man was on the left of the image, standing where the two clouds on the bottom are. He took up a good quarter of the image. Luckily I took several shots in the same position so I was able to clone bits from other images where he wasn't in the way on-top of him in this image... I'm a genius me.
Some day, when I'm a famous photo-journalist, this image is going to come back to haunt me and everyone will doubt my integrity as a 'true' journalist. This will be to me what cannabis is to government officials.
And yes, I do understand the irony in me spending 15 minutes changing an image so that you wouldn't know and then telling you about the changes, but the fact is, I'm actually quite impressed I did it so well for a first try..... This is all me boasting.
Well, I may have used excessive amounts of the healing brush and the clone tool; but I swear, I never inhaled.
Actually this is taken in Peru. These two ladies are watching a parade that is taking place to the left. The large pom pom attached to her shawl informs everyone that she is single. (A smaller one would mean she is married.)
Actually, this is one of the best sunrises ever seen in my life.
Just after a snow perturbation that led 50 cm of fresh powder I decide to climb monte Aquila di Giaveno (2119 m) with a friend and my snowboard then to descend it with sunrise light in full powder.

My eldest daughter and son-in-law gave me this for Christmas! I was thrilled to see the cover as I unwrapped this package! I am looking forward to each new day in 2009 to see what jems this holds. So far, I am doing well at not looking ahead.
Well, actually the second snow... of the day. Woke up to a light dusting, now tonight we get some lake effect snow which is pretty rare in D.C. Oh, it's 21 and dropping... brr.

Actually felt well and truly stuffed after eating this baby... Normally i feel dazed and confused... I eat a cheese burger and wonder who ate my dinner? But not the one .... Its huge!

Well actually he was doing his roll and growl, but had layed down looking real cute for a minute. I knew it wouldn't last. I tryed to get the camera out and zoom just a little and it was too late...
Instead I get the crazed look with the back kick. Hey, maybe he's doing a little cardio kickboxing of his own?
Actually, she looks pretty cute in the black wig here =) I guess the lighting needs to be right. She'll still wear the short pink one sometimes too though ^____^
