With Rahway Valley no. 15 splitting the view, Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad four and six-axle power is seen idling or at work in the Scranton railyard. The railroad is known as a bastion for operating and restoring ALCO and MLW in revenue service freight operations. At left are ALCO C425 no.s 2409, 2423, and 2457, sitting at idle awaiting work. At right are M636 no.s 3643 and 3602, M630 no. 3000, C636 no. 3642, and M420 no. 3560, the latter of which had recently returned from a lease to the New York, Susquehanna & Western.

Capitol Climate Action Activists stand before Federal Police blocking the gates of Capitol Power Plant in Washington, DC, March 2, 2009. More than 2,500 former coal miners, ministers, mothers, students, and climate activists, representing over 40 states from Arizona to Appalachia, successfully blocked all five entrances to the Capitol Power Plant for nearly four hours today, forming the largest display of civil disobedience on the climate crisis in U.S. history.
On the shore of the Harrison river I captured some action. It all started when one hard working eagle dragged a dead salmon to shore to dine one. It did get a bit of feed before it was noticed by it's cousins and it was driven away and there was a dispute as to who got the fish. The original eagle flew elsewhere and I think the salmon may have washed further down stream while the disputes when on.
The tortoise proves that they do have more initiative than a rock by moving to a diffrent patch of grass at the Toledo Zoo in Ohio.
Developed in Caffenol CM using rosemary in place of the coffee.
This was only my second time shooting tennis, but my experience with shooting surf and fast moving jets has helped me to hone my tracking and action anticipation abilities which helped a lot. With the help of the blazing fast Z9 I was able to get loads of shots right when the ball was hitting the racket and being deformed. While it looks cool, I find it doesn't really tell a story. I like the shots just before the strike the best. Where the players are wound up, ready to pounce, all focus is on the ball and they are ready to strike!
Small description of image -
Simpkin and Xin have gone to Hogsmeade to gather some school supplies with their parents, which is probably where this image came from and why they are making the funny faces.
It is time again for the weekly challenge - action. This is one of my photos from our day at the Northern beaches yesterday. This is a surfer under a wave with the tip of the surfboard jutting out of the wave.
Hooch is the most recent addition to our family. We rescued him from a kill shelter here in NJ. He is about 6-years old and golden through and through.
Folks, a word of advice, if your dog (and not just Goldens) doesn't fit into your life style any longer and you need to get rid of him or her please, please, please DO NOT drop them off at a kill shelter. You have two other options, find a shelter that does not kill your dog if no one else wants them or contact one of the hundreds of dog rescue organizations in the country. They will most certainly find a "forever" home for the dog that you used to love. And do us all a favor and before you decide to get another pet make damn certain that you have 10-20 years to dedicate to loving and caring for it.
