One of a photo collection taken at the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Ariznoa. They have an amazing collection, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had a great day there with the whole family. The kids love it… and so do the grown-ups. I had not been since I was a child… anyway. I hope you enjoy the image.

My camera club had organised a sunrise shoot at the old World War II gun emplacements at Godley Head followed by brunch at a cafe in Sumner.
I arrived before 7am and 20 minutes later a fellow club member arrived advising that the field trip was off, owing to a total overcast sky and no chance of a sunrise. In the end three club members were out taking the great pre sunrise and sunrise.
Godley Head is a DOC (Department of Conservation) park now, but was the site of an army gun site during the Second World War, with a contingent of soldiers manning the site that had search lights, guns and communications. Across the other side of Lyttelton Harbour was another site (Fort Jervois on Ripapa Island) with two "disappearing guns" housed below ground level.
This is an abstracted sunrise shot using ICM (intentional camera movement).
The "rise" in the horizon on the left is the Kaikoura Peninsula and adjacent mountains.
On the night of July 3, 2022 I sat in my daughters front yard that overlooks the city of Dubuque, Iowa. The fireworks are shot over the Mississippi River at quite a distance from where we were watching them being fired up into the night sky. I used many settings on my camera, sports, landscape, creative auto. etc. I got some amazing images that make many of the fireworks look abstract and not your usual fireworks display.
Abstracted from a detail in one of my photos, changed on an iPad Air with PhotoWizard, Aquarella HD, and Procreate.
I was riding my fat bike along the Lake Michigan coast when this caught my eye. I thought it really looked like a piedmont glacier or lava.
Elements of bike or bikes hanging on a mud wall, colour ochre. It puts me in mind of constructivist or deconstructivist sculpture. There's also a functional bike below.
