Le pont de Québec est un pont mixte ferroviaire et routier qui traverse le fleuve Saint-Laurent de l'ouest de la ville de Québec (rive nord) jusqu'à Lévis (quartier Saint-Nicolas) sur la rive sud. C'est une structure rivetée d'acier-botte de 987 m de long, 28,7 m de large et 104 m de haut. Chaque envergure en porte-à-faux est de 178 m. C'est le pont de type cantilever ayant la plus longue portée libre au monde, avec 549 mètres entre ses piliers principaux et sa travée centrale longue de 576 mètres. Il est encore considéré aujourd'hui comme une œuvre majeure d'ingénierie. Il est situé en aval du Pont Pierre-Laporte.
Le pont de Québec est la propriété de la compagnie ferroviaire Canadien National (CN).
Le premier pont fut déclaré Monument historique international le 23 mai 1987 par les Sociétés canadienne et américaine des ingénieurs civils (CSCE et ACSE), et fut le quatrième ouvrage de génie civil à recevoir cet honneur. Le 24 janvier 1996, le pont fut inclus dans la liste des lieux historiques nationaux du Canada.
The Quebec Bridge (Pont de Québec in French) crosses the lower Saint Lawrence River to the west of Quebec City, and Lévis, Quebec, Canada.
The Quebec Bridge is a riveted steel truss structure and is 987m (3,239 ft) long, 29 m (94 ft) wide, and 104 m (340 ft) high. Cantilever arms 177 m (580 ft) long support a 195 m (640 ft) central structure, for a total span of 549 m (1800 ft), the longest cantilever bridge span in the world. It is the easternmost (farthest downstream) complete crossing of the Saint Lawrence.
The bridge accommodates three highway lanes (none until 1929, one until 1949, two until 1993), one rail line (two until 1949), and a pedestrian walkway (originally two); at one time it also carried a streetcar line. It has been owned by the Canadian National Railway since 1993.
The Quebec Bridge was declared a historic monument in 1987 by the Canadian and American Society of Civil Engineers, and on January 24, 1996, the bridge was declared a National Historic Site of Canada.

Berkshire & Eastern B100 works east between the CPF-381 approach signals at Lake Pleasant in an early-January blizzard in 2024. Leading the way towards Ayer was NS 6950, an EMD SD60E equipped with ACSES PTC to lead on MBTA territory east of here. B100 would meet its counterpart train which I was chasing, B101, just east of here in Millers Falls.

Providence & Worcester B23-S7 passes into a gap between the first and second spans of the Connecticut Southern Railroad's bridge from East Hartford into Hartford proper. Out of the 11 B23-S7s that found their way to Genessee and Wyoming, 2215 is the current lone operating survivor by dint of its ACSES signal system, used on the Amtrak line that CSO's Springfield turn operates over. Ironically, though I was drawn to the B23-S7s because many used to work for the MGA, this unit, the former GE demonstrator 2000, may have toured that road, but was never owned by them.

Il libro che Quinto Ferrari ha regalato a Tito. "Mé a la vadd acsé". Il libro è la raccolta delle storie, delle canzoni in dialetto bolognese che Quinto ha scritto e che Tito ha cantato, spesso chiamato a esibirsi nella festa dell'Unità a Bologna o in altre feste tipiche Bolognesi di quartiere.
Quinto Ferrari diceva che non c'era una voce migliore di Tito per cantare le sue storie in bolognese.
Out for a few hours last weekend, saw a lot of fun pieces, and had issues with freights that kept stopping on the tracks for 30-40 minutes at a time, blocking the other tracks. Why!! I can only imagine what I missed that passed by on the other side of a parked train. I feel like I need to put a sign out there in giant letters that says "KEEP IT MOVING!!!". Oh well. Like I said, I saw some great pieces, and didn't die.
