A rather grey and drab autumn day made for a rather grey and drab colour photograph that has been much improved in my opinion by converting to black and white. East Midlands Railways 156414 has just departed Beeston station working 2L69, 12@43 Leicester – Lincoln, 9th November 2021.

Sir Muhammad Iqbal*was born in (November 9, 1877 & died April 21, 1938), widely known as Allama Iqbal, was a poet, philosopher and politician, as well as an academic, barrister and scholar' in British India who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement. He is called the "Spiritual Father of Pakistan."He is considered one of the most important figures in Urdu literature, with literary work in both Urdu and Persian.

I lead no party; I follow no leader. I have given the best part of my life to careful study of Islam, its law and polity, its culture, its history and its literature.

On the 9thNovember 2019 a traon of loaded wagons approaches the Derrinlough Briquette Factory.

Having stood around for two hours waiting on the wrong line we were taken by surprise when five trains arrived from a different direction. This was the best of a series of grab shots.

9th November 2021 :

Went out to do a few odds and ends and ended up taking a short walk back home. It actually made my walk home a lot longer, but it was good to out.

Saw these chimney pots as I was almost home and liked how they looked through the bamboo shoots.

Will do my best to keep up, but I'm trying to be gentle on my eyes for awhile.

9th November 2017:

Oh why didn't I go out yesterday when the weather was fine, although cold. It's rained almost all day today and the forecast is dreadful for the next few days. It might get better by the weekend, with any luck.

I was sorting out my batteries that needed charging and noticed that I'm still a little bit British after all!

My Panasonic has an English plug as does my battery charger for the Fuji batteries. Luckily that came with an adaptor.

Lightened this a lot as the light in the apartment isn't great for inside photos.

Locomotive History

37884 was originally D6883 and was built by English Electric at Robert Stephenson and Hawthorn works, Darlington. It entered traffic in November 1963, allocated to Landore MPD. It would remain at Landore for the next eighteen years (renumbered 37283 under the 1974 TOPS renumbering scheme) before transfer to Scotland in April 1982, allocated initially to Eastfield before moving to Inverness after a couple of weeks. Interestingly in that couple of week period it was recorded still working in South Wales and the transfer to Eastfield was in reality a paper only transfer. It would spend the next six years in Scotland moving to Eastfield in January 1986 and Motherwell in May 1987. In the summer of 1988 it entered Crewe Works for refurbishment and emerged as 37884 in November 1988, allocated to Cardiff. The next twelve years were spent on freight duties through out the UK initially allocated to Cardiff until transferred to Thornaby in May 1992, Toton in November 1998 and Crewe November 2000. It was stored in January 2001 and sent to Spain, numbered L34 for infrastructure duties in August 2001. After a number of years stored in Spain it returned to the UK in 2013 and following overhaul was reinstated to traffic in November 2015.

9th November 2019:

"It's been raining ever since She got up and even though She tried to find something else to take for today, She finally gave in and dug into The Teddy B Box.

She found us, but we think She left one of our cousins in there, but they might come out another day.

We climbed up onto the printer thing that lives by the window and were planning on what we could get up to while She wasn't looking. The problem was that She took our photo and put us straight back into our box.

We'll catch Her out one day."
