Betsy’s Biscuit Bomber
This C-47 rolled off Douglas Aircraft’s production line in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma during the summer of 1944. The U.S. Army Air Force accepted her on September 4th, 1944. She served with the 9th Air Force in Europe, but was obviously too late to see service during D-Day.
She is in Europe for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
Her nickname, Betsy’s Biscuit Bomber, derives from her time taking part in the Berlin Air Lift during 1948.
Data from the D-Day Sqn website.

Palmer, AK, May 2022.
This 1943-built DC-3 is fitted with Wright R-1820 Cyclone engines in place of the original P&W R-1830s. It was based in Florida with Missionary Flights International for many years, first as N2400 and later N400MF. It has a full passenger interior and there are proposals for vintage propliner charter flights in Alaska.
Seen at Coventry Airport, Douglas C-47B Dakota - G-ANAF stands like a beacon, against the incoming storm clouds.
