Preserved Grey Green Northern Counties bodied Leyland Olympian 405, H 105 GEV is pictured whilst taking part in the Wirral Bus & Tram Show 2019 in Birkenhead. This bus was new to County Bus & Coach (#LR105) before passing to Grey Green, which later became part of Arriva with this bus serving with Arriva London, Arriva Manchester & Arriva North West (#3105) before passing to GHA Coaches, Wrexham (#DD14) where it was registered 1810 VT, after which it passed into preservation.

An unusal but most welcome choice of vehicle for Maisto to model was the Peugeot 405 T16 rally car and one which dates back to an era when Maisto products weren't associated with overt cheapness and lack of interiors! Their output invariably equalled the more established makes and at one point I was buying far more of their stuff than Matchbox!
This battle scarred example is missing its rear spoiler but its overall accuracy and attention to detail is still very much evident.

This 405 used to belong to an older man who lived a few streets away from the garage I used to work at, and it did come in to us for it's MOT every year.
Last week, it appeared at the car auction I work at during the evenings (and, as of next month, full time). It got a bid of £110 in the sale, having a reserve price of £175. I suspect the top bidder might have had to pay a little more, as the garage who entered it into the auction (where it obviously got traded in at), are known to me as being strict with their prices (i.e they always want top dollar).
Unfortunately, I do fear slightly for it's future, due to the low price it fetched, and the fact that the guys I saw bidding on it were gypsies (and that's never a good sign in my experience). So I'll be keeping an eye on it's DVLA status. A week on from it's sale, it's only ventured as far as the street outside the auction.
