Fue fundado en la segunda mitad del S. XII, por un grupo de frailes procedentes del monasterio de Balbuena (Valladolid) con la finalidad de extender la Orden del Cister por las tierras al sur del Sistema Central. Después de once años de estancia en la zona, el rey Alfonso VIII, en 1175 confirmó la propiedad a los monjes. Con ello el Monasterio se establecÃa en unas tierras compuestas por un valle fértil regado por el rÃo Jarama con abundantes bosques y pastos para proporcionar madera, carbón y alimento para el ganado, además de canteras de piedra cercanas –piedra de Tamajón- para construir el monasterio.
Los restos que actualmente subsisten datan del S. XIII. Se hicieron varias reformas en el S. XVII y finalmente fue abandonado por los monjes en el en 1.821, pasando a manos privadas. Fue declarado Bien de Interés Cultural en 1.992, siendo restaurado y acondicionado para su visita por la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha en 2018.
Del conjunto monacal se conserva el ábside, la sacristÃa, el crucero y la nave meridional de la iglesia, además de algunos muros de otras dependencias.

The lion (Panthera leo) is a species in the family Felidae; it is a muscular, deep-chested cat with a short, rounded head, a reduced neck and round ears, and a hairy tuft at the end of its tail. It is sexually dimorphic; adult male lions have a prominent mane, which is the most recognisable feature of the species. With a typical head-to-body length of 184–208 cm they are larger than females at 160–184 cm. It is a social species, forming groups called prides. A lion pride consists of a few adult males, related females and cubs. Groups of female lions usually hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates. The lion is an apex and keystone predator, although some lions scavenge when opportunities occur, and have been known to hunt humans, although the species typically does not. Typically, the lion inhabits grasslands and savannas, but is absent in dense forests. It is usually more diurnal than other big cats, but when persecuted it adapts to being active at night and at twilight. African lions live in scattered populations across Sub-Saharan Africa. The lion prefers grassy plains and savannahs, scrub bordering rivers and open woodlands with bushes. It is absent from rainforest and rarely enters closed forest. 26964

This generation of Lancia Delta is incredibly rare to see in the UK, even though it was sold under the 'Chrysler' brand here, in very low numbers. This example from Poland, driving along the M20, appeared to have a rather strange reproduction plate, with a very non-standard font (i can't pin the font to any country), plus a GB 'Euroband' too. The car did have a Polish registration sticker in the windscreen, and 'LLB' is a used Polish code, coming from the county of Lubartów, located to the immediate north of the city of Lublin in eastern Poland. 'LLB' is also a very rare code for me to spot, with this only being my third (the other two being a VW T5/Trailer duo i spotted in Wakefield a few years ago).

DB Regio 146 110 pushes an interesting mix of coaches out of Titisee station as RB service 26964 from Neustadt (Schwarzwald) to Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf. First coach behind the locomotive is a former Deutsche Bundesbahn n-car, followed by a DBuz, once built by VEB Waggonbau Görlitz for Deutsche Reichsbahn. The third and fourth coach were constructed in Görlitz as well, but by DWA and/or Bombardier in the post-cold war era.

The Grade I Listed All Saint's Church, Church Street, Nettleham, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire.
The original church dated from the Saxon period. The manor of Nettleham, which included the Church, was owned for part of the eleventh century by Queen Edith, wife, then widow, of Edward the Confessor.
From 1081 until 1219 the Church was owned by the EAbbey of Evroult in Normandy. In 1101 the manor of Nettleham was given by the King to the Bishops of Lincoln and became the location of the Bishops' Palace until about 1585. The remains of this palace can be seen next to the Methodist Chapel to the west of the Church. By the mid nineteenth century the Church was no longer controlled by Lincoln Cathedral and had its own Vicar. It is now in the benefice of Nettleham with Riseholme and Grange de Lings.
The current building's nave dates from the original Saxon church while the present arches in the north and south walls are almost certainly 13th century but the plainer ones at the west end of the nave are thought to be of a slightly later date. The roof of the nave is 15th century repainted after the fire in 1969. The balance of the church with later fifteenth century amendments is essentially thirteenth century. The South face clock is 1850 and the one in the east wall 1980s. Many amendments were made in an 1889 restoration by Bodley and Garner.
Within the church's graveyard is a headstone in memory of Thomas Gardiner, a post-boy murdered hereabouts by two highway robbers in January 1733. The inscription declares he was 'barbarously murdered' aged 19. The robbers - two brothers by the name of Hallam - committed another murder near Faldingworth before being arrested. They were convicted of murder at Lincoln and executed at the site of their crimes. (Thomas Gardiner's headstone declares he was killed on 3 January 1732 since at the time Britain used the Julian Calendar.)
