Newport Beach Pier Binoculars

The Newport Pier is one of two piers located within the city of Newport Beach, California, at the center of the Balboa Peninsula. It is 1,032 feet (314.6 m) long and registered as California Historical Landmark number 794.

Located at Oceanfront Boulevard and 21st Place, it is popular for angling, strolling and dining. At the end of the pier sits a restaurant called the "Newport Pier Grill and Sushi." The restaurant has an outdoor patio called the William Wright Terrace which adds 288 square feet (26.8 m2) and can seat up to 28 with a view of the water. At the base of the pier is the Dory Fishing Fleet, a beachside fishing cooperative founded in 1891. Also at the base of the pier is the headquarters of the city fire department's Lifeguard division.
The original wharf at this site was called McFadden Wharf, named for local landowners James and Robert McFadden. It was completed in the winter of 1888-1889, then connected by railroad to the interior in the winter of 1890-1891. It served as a shipping and distribution point for Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties until 1907 and provided the nucleus from which developed the city of Newport Beach. It is also serves as the base for Newport Beach Junior Lifegaurds, a program run by the fire department that allows for kids to receive basic water training.

What can you get for £25 these days?
Nicely broken in canvas bag, 3 old flash guns to use as slaves, extension tube set, Nikon F70 35mm camera, Nikon 35-70mm, Sigma 50-200mm and Sigma 70-300mm macro lens.
I collect old Nikons and always look out for ones that have a usable lens attached.
Biggest bargain, Sigma 70-300mm for a whopping £3.97
Shouldn't have used this title, can't get the Heaven 17 song out of my head!
Probably showing my age now too!

Arriving from Rochdale and making a u-turn in St James Square in order to reach its departure stand in St James Gardens. Olympian ex Metrobus.
Its been a while since I've posted a 'brothers' shot :P This is a constant scene with the boys, they sniff everything in unison.
It was a very foggy morning.
Work continues on the quayside ready for moving the cranes off Zhen Hua 25. A brief window of sunlight allowed for a few elevated sunny shots of the preparation work ready for unloading.

Preserved British Rail Type 2 Class 25 diesel locomotive 25057 at Weybourne Locomotive, Carriage Maintenance and Restoration Centre on the North Norfolk Railway (UK).
25057 was built at Derby Works as British Railways Type 2 D5207 in 1963 and was withdrawn from traffic on March 15th 1987.
Despite numerous visits to the NNR over the years, I've yet to see or hear the forlorn 25057 in action which is very disappointing.
The photo on the left was my granddaughter when she was 6 seven years ago tomorrow. The one on the right is a a young girl in the neighborhood. Their pleasure in being out by themselves was a deja vu moment for me to see these young brunettes with braids and denim.
