The LV cab made its first appearance at the 1962 Earls Court Commercial vehicle show, designed by Gerald Broadbent it was ground breaking and revolutionary for ERF He christened his new creation the Long Vue cab (LV) It combined a stylish appearance with luxury internal fittings and a number of new and innovative features like a full width front access panel for maintenance, concealed door hinges, a large one piece windscreen and vertical push button door handles so that ropes thrown over the load did not snag up on them.

The LV models, including LV tractor units, continued in production alongside the A Series until the announcement of the new B Series models in late 1974..

The EC range was introduced in 1993 and coincided with the companies diamond jubilee, when they used the logo, Driving The Future as a theme. the EC used established SP technology with new styling, however this was more than makeover. The EC range had taken four years of developement and a £14 million investment to produce the new tractor and truck range. The EC turned out to be the companies best ever selling product.

1996 saw the takeover of ERF by Western Star Truck Holdings, based in British Columbia, Canada, for a reported £ 27.4 million. Under the holding company ERF started to diversify into the municipal market with two new products, the EM central steer cab and the EU.

In 2000 Western Star sold on ERF to German Truck manufacturer MAN

Produced relatively recently by Edward Way, in the spirit of the Brooklands aero engined specials.

The chassis is a 1910 Austin, back then Austin built large cars including a straight six 9.7 litre, but that was a side valve engine lacking the grunt for such a project.

Its engine in a 1918 four cylinder overhead cam Hall_Scott aero engine. Edward J Hall and Bert C Scott Californian engine builders, who contributed to the design of the WW1 Liberty engine. Their own designs of four, six and eight cylinder engines shared common components a hemi-head that increased power to weight ratio, most were built as petrol marine engines, this one with a massive 2.5 litres per cylinder
