A day off today, so I took my wife and the boys, Eddie (Jack Russell) and Dave (Dachshund) to the waterfall a few miles up the lane from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.
This is the lower third of the impressive waterfall in view, and a delightful place to visit, if you are ever in the area. Fortunately it is only 30 minutes drive from home, but this is the first time I've photographed it in earnest.
This is a three frame image, main layer 1/13th F8 with a focus stacked foreground, and 1/3rd exposure for the waterfall to smooth the flow.
Based on a great illustration by Ian McQue www.mcqueconcept.blogspot.com.au. Thanks for the feedback on the other mecha. This one seemed to lend itself to Lego a bit better.

I must have seen more than one hundred fritillaries on Saturday morning while birding a local park. This one settled down to provide a great view of brand new wings.
The title has more to do with state of mind than the flight of the butterfly. After 13 years, our middle daughter is moving back to California!! She spent one year in Washington, DC while in high school, 4 years in Baltimore as an undergraduate, 4 years in Virginia as a medical student and will have spent 4 years in Chicago as a Anesthesiology resident. She secured a Pediatric Anesthesia fellowship in southern California (not an easy feat) and will be returning with her husband in late June!!
After she texted a picture of her match-day placement, I ran around work like a grinning idiot for the next four hours., telling everyone who knew her.

I decided to use this cattail, bull rush, shot to finish my series. Autumn blew by too quickly this year and yet I have several autumn shots awaiting edit. This is from early this December rather than a recent, but better, fall but then fall is over. The cats were struggling to pass their genes on for next year's supply. Late in the day, the breeze was gone. I got this shot in front of trees along the river bottom. They jumped from the background of dark tree line allowing the seeding cattails to show. The silk in the pods is resolved by the lens.
This pass was made down at the ponds and consisted of keeping extraneous foliage outside the frame because there were side-lit and bold tones so I concentrated on them. at a slow exposure. I have now shifted more to a seasonal drop off and am waiting for some snow. I am still not willing to let this autumn slip away and have many captures to edit though I still have many green foliage edits left.
I was at Golden Ponds, the Longmont, Boulder County greenbelt and rec area. This year's sky has been the pits lately. I wandered the two parks and took some detail shots that were available, The the rippling water was light and most cattails are seeding Recently, I shot few pictures and kept the sky out of the frame but here, it's presence shows in the water.
{ Well, Avalon's new Pure Neemo body just got finished being tanned and blushed to boot! I guess I have a real fascination for keeping the anatomy rendered in which I normally do for all of my other paintings. Just can't get way form the "details'! Avalon's body is no exception being that this was the Small PN body type which has less definition than the Medium body I had blushed earlier for my Dakota. I had an old box of Rembrant's from my college days but just bought a few pearl Sennelier's which enhanced the blushing of these sweet rosy areas on her body. The behind is pretty adorable too! But no time for butt shots today~ heehee - so cute! }
