"Es ist ein Ros entsprungen"
Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming
From tender stem hath sprung,
Of Jesse's lineage coming,
As men of old have sung.....
Beautiful Middle Ages German Christmas carol.....
Wishing you well flickr friends, during this Holy season for Christians, wishing everyone peace on earth....Pat...xo

Some highlighting of this rose through PicMonkey....
A flock of ibis silhouette a sky turned golden orange from the last rays of sunset. The brilliant colors reflect across the waters of Lake Myakka in Sarasota, Florida.

Another joyous day winds down at Banff with Mt. Rundle reflected in one of the Vermilion Lakes.
"The Vermilion Lakes are a series of lakes located immediately west of Banff.
The three lakes are formed in the Bow River valley at the foot of Mount Norquay. They are located between the Trans-Canada Highway and the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. A hot spring is found at the third lake."

A rather comical looking well worn Roseate Spoonbill flying at me. Spoonbills are like people having many different looks.
Roseate Spoonbill - - it has one leg curled up under its breast - - its not a one-legged spoonbill !

Another one of the fascinating pancake lenticular clouds above the Montana side of Beartooth Pass at sunset. Best place I've visited for lenticular hunting.
Road to/from Red Lodge in distance below.

Macro Mondays ….. Theme "Red"
The healthy option, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, as the saying goes. Also a favourite choice of one of your five a day. Clearly an appealing choice of fruit.
Thanks for your views, faves and comments very much appreciated.
After attending the second funeral in a week Jonathan and I took our dogs a walk to one of our local nature reserves where the wind made it very difficult and mostly impossible to get a decent shot. I thought I'd ring the changes by using my Tamron SP 90 f2.8 Di Macro 1.1 VC USD mounted on one of my Sony lenses just for a change as my DSLRs plus that lens felt heavy and my wrist hurts atm.
I disliked it intensely after using vintage lenses but my mood wasn't the best anyway. Eventually Jonathan just lay enjoying the sun and the dogs followed me. As I walked along I was treated to the sight of a rich gold coloured bird flying from one group of trees to another. After a few minutes out of sight it flew straight across in front of me. I Had no lens long enough to photograph it yet I was overcome by joy just to have seen it. Jonathan had seen a few men with long lenses and a guy carrying a birding scope had nodded to me so when I spotted the golden bird I guessed it was what they had come for. I remarked to Jonathan that I believed I had seen a Golden Oriole and goodness only knows where when or how I had even heard the name. On reaching home I immediately googled it and low and behold there was my Golden Oriole. It had dispelled my gloom in an instant and I know will remain forever one of those special moments I shall never forget.. I could return with a longer lens but I know I am no bird photographer but nothing could replicate the feeling of excited joy I felt seeing that beautiful bird against the clear blue sky......hope you have a wonderful weekend everyone..Sue..:)
Species: Pastor roseus.
Horwich, Greater Manchester.
Many thanks to people who view or comment on my photos.
Waiting for sunrise, there is this moment when the land- and cloudscape beneath looks more rosy than blue. I there such a thing as a "rosy hour"? Maybe a rosy quarter hour?
