Class 315, 315837

40 year old British Rail Class 315 4 car 25kV EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) 315837 leads the 8 car 2W90 10:42 (10:49 RT) TfL Rail London Liverpool Street- Shenfield service train northbound at Stratford Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in East London (UK).

Class 315 EMU's were built by BREL (British Rail Engineering Ltd) in 1980/1 and were based on the then new 1972 British Rail 'standard' EMU design.

315837 is one of the last 315 units still in service as most have been withdrawn/scrapped and replaced by the Class 345 Aventra Elizabeth 'Crossrail' Line EMU's which of course the TfL Rail London- Shenfield Metro GEML will form a part of.
