Balmoral Pub Blaze
The Balmoral Pub on Dalry Road, Edinburgh caught fire just after midnight. These images are from a couple of hours later at around 2am when the fire was still not under control. 20 residents from above the pub had to be rescued.
It was only the next morning that it was realised how bad the fire was after it was announced that the first Edinburgh fireman in living memory was killed after the ground floor collapsed into the basement. One other firefighter was injured.
