There was a guy on Fstoppers.com awhile back who did very dramatic black and white urban landscapes.
They looked like they were taken at night, but the EXIF data showed they were taken mid-afternoon. Another tell - and what gave them a surreal quality - was that there no lights in the windows.
So they were a very well-executed, still-photo versions of, "Day For Night," or, as the French directors call it, "La Nuit Américaine" This is one of my attempts at the genre, although it was taken just before sunset.
What do you think?

The biggest weakness of this attempt is that the photo isn't sharp - I must've shot it handheld. (Or turned off AF because it "hunting" in a prior shot and forgot to turn it back on. I'm ... kind of a space case, TBH)
