Boat Trip: Yangon River

On Monday 1 April the LIFT team went for a boat trip on the Yangon river, a branch of the massive Ayeyarwady river system. The Ayeyarwady runs north to south through the heart of Myanmar. It is possible for small scale shipping to ply the river all the way to Mandalay. The famous "road to Mandalay" remains with tourists regularly taking the 5 star 10 day cruise from Yangon to Mandalay via Pagan. The cruise is now owned and operated by the Orient Express.
