Railway Square, ca. 1945, from Walkabout : NSW photographs (Kings Cross, Sydney buildings), 1945-1967 / by unknown photographer

Format: Photoprint

Notes: For pedestrians, the twin crossings at Railway Square were hazardous. Before 1961, it was a complex intersection of rail, tram and bus services. When buses replaced trams, the terminus became even more confused, with a marshalling area and pick-up area. Crowds of up to 200 frustrated travellers waited in the open for suburban services.
