Chesapeake Bay, 9/18/2011
I'd read an article in the paper the previous week, about how the torrential rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee had washed huge amounts of sediment into the bay. Still, I was really surprised to see the usually-blue-green waters of the bay stained this tan color from shore to shore when I crossed the Bay Bridge on my way to a car show in Easton. I shot this on my way back, looking North from the westbound span.
Oddly enough, other waterways I passed on this trip--which all ultimately feed into the bay--didn't look like this.
