Dung fly

Hi guys!

 

Another insect I caught up the hill here, unsure of the name of this fly but have photographed it before a while back www.flickr.com/photos/sequentialmacro/8100397421/in/set-7...

 

If anyone has any idea of the name let me know below.

 

This is probably one of my favourites, it's beautiful purple eyes are what really stands out on this insect, the purpose of the colour is something I don't fully understand mind.

 

This was taken with the 4x, stretched to 6x though as it was very small indeed.

I used 200 images.

Canon 550D.

2x LED Lamps.

bellows and extension tubes - 200mm.
