Scales on the Wing of a Moth @ 10x

Hi guys !

Firstly let me point you in the direction of my new video I made for those who want to begin focus stacking ! - www.youtube.com/watch?v=inYD9HmnQnE

I hope it helps those who want to do it as it gives a detailed explanation and video to my own setup and how I bypass vibrations etc, even in a flat of 5 !

Here's a photo I've been wanting to do now for a few months. So today I managed to catch a moth while no one was looking ( at the risk of looking like a mad man ) and then got to work stacking 91 images.

I made the wing as parallel to the sensor as possible but 91 was the least I could do.

I managed to by pass any shake or wind blowing the wing which was really good, producing a nice sharp image, see the full size here www.flickr.com/photos/sequentialmacro/8117382779/sizes/k/...

This wing was very white indeed, much harder in retrospect as the light was bouncing off in all directions cause a lot of glare, but I managed to bypass this through my own methods...

Hope you like it, have a grand week all ! More crazy 10x things to come and soon 20x ! :-)
