Former employer

I worked for Svedala a few years back. ('90-'95). Once upon a time, they were Dravo Engineering Works division.

Then it was Dravo Wellman.

Then they picked up McNally Pittsburg (from KS), and became McNally Wellman.

Then they were bought by the Trellebourg Group.

Then it was Svedala that bought them. After a while, they decided to start using that name in the U.S.

Some time after I left, they changed ownership and names yet again. Now they are Metso Minerals.

 

But, they're still out on Neville Island. It was a decent place to work. Those August afternoons commuting, when the rendering plant was in full swing, and right passed Neville Chemical... well.. that wasn't so nice. But at least the office was upwind of them all.
