Oglethorpe Monument

Oglethorpe Monument - Dedicated in 1930 by Colonel Sam Tate to James Edward Oglethorpe, the founder of the Georgia Colony. Originally located atop Oglethorpe Mountain in Pickens County, the monument was in ruins by the late 1990's. Refurbished by world-renowned sculptor Eino, the monument now stands across from the Old Jail on Main Street in downtown Jasper.
