D3-639, A2-986 & R-761 approaching Melton-2.

Steamrail locos D3-639, A2-986 and R-761 approach the Exford Road level crossing in Melton South with a thirteen carriage passenger train from Melbourne to Ballarat.

At Ballarat, the locos will change direction and haul the train back to Melbourne via Geelong. The train was hauled by three generations of Victorian Railways passenger steam locomotives. The D3 was built in 1903, the A2 was built in 1915 and the 'R' was built in 1951. The train was running nearly an hour late here due to delays on the single track Ballarat line caused by a broken down freight train. 10:58am, Saturday the 24th of June, 2017.
