Truncated Tetrahedron (self dual)

This is an all wood model / sculpture of 2 interwoven 'Truncated Tetrahedron' I stained one in darker cherry wood and the other in clear coat to tell them apart easier. I also make it all one color if you prefer to match your decor (see website for details).

The tetrahedron is a Platonic solid and the only one that is its own 'self dual' but in this case, I also made them as their truncations (clipped off the 4 corners each) so what we have left are 6 equilateral triangles and 36 pieces of wood total. Everything is compound mitered (XYZ axis) on old school power tools, no CAD, CAM, laser cutting etc...

Math is fun!
