1975 - AM6 Approaching the East Side..
LNER-designed AM6 EMU - Class 306 - unit 059 entering Liverpool Street station in October 1975.
The class had first entered service as 1500v DC units in 1949, and were later converted to AC, and were all withdrawn by 1981. One unit has survived, and is now (2019) at the National Railway Museum at Shildon, in run-down condition, with faded green paintwork.
Today, these tracks are subterranean, under offices and plazas..
