Away for a day
A Facebook friend writes a critique whenever she posts a photo. I enjoy reading them as they give me an extra insight into her shots. So I thought I’d try it myself. It makes me think more about what I am shooting, and why.
Away for a day.
A man strolls on the beach soaking in the warm rays of the evening sunshine. A slow shutter speed and slight camera movement enhance the relaxed feel of a summer evening. The green hills stop the eye wandering totally off the edge and guide the viewer back to the main subject.
Slightly ahead of him, two birds play on the shore. They are very much in the periphery as the man is lost in thought.
Spontaneity leads to pleasant surprises and a return to the novelty of photography before rules existed.
