Island Capture (aka Silverph or psilver)

A short break from my Bronx Zoo photos...
My mom's NY visit is coming to an end. She has to go home to take care of two critters -- my son Brian Justin and my niece Sofia. How I want to go back home for a visit but I find it expensive for now.
This was taken late in the afternoon, with the sun out of sight and rain clouds all over the sky -- almost perfect overcast for portraiture. I let her do what she wants with occasional direction from me. This is really just my second try at portraiture. I've done tons of nature shots so hopefully I will try my hand on more outdoor portraits next. I set Auto ISO on so the camera will shoot at low ISO unless it needs to bump it up when light goes too low. Some of my shots are taken in manual mode (I was experimenting on exposure). Handheld, 70-200mm VR 2.8 lens.
If anyone happens to be in or near Kings Park, drop by for a visit and maybe we can do a portrait or two. :)
