Greater Manchester PTE 8151.

Greater Manchester Transport: 8151 (VBA 151S) a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Atlantean, captured here pulling out on to Boyle Street outside the Manchester Museum of Transport where this vehicle was presented after being restored to how this vehicle looked when new.

This vehicle was numerically the first of the Atlantean standards in the 8000 series of fleet numbers. Seen freshly repainted into the white and orange livery and showing FK depot codes for it's allocation to the old Salford Frederick Road garage where it was allocated from September 1978. It was new to Stockport Garage in January 1978, moving to Tameside in August 1978 before its move to Salford. It left Frederick Road in May 1984 when a move to Manchester's Princess Road Garage happened, with spells at Leigh, then Atherton before deregulation.
