Sonoran Desert II
Sonoran Desert II: No 2 in a series from the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. The large cactus is a Saguaro Cactus, the monarch of the desert. Note the small lighter cactus in the left foreground. That’s a Jumping Teddy Bear Cholla. The Cholla is Not your friend! 😳 A truly nasty plant. The segments are loosely attached and walking on the nearby ground will make them detach and “jump” at you. 😬 The needles are hooked and hard to pull out of your skin, and frequently you just end up sticking you fingers trying to get them out. I take heavy groves just in case. Anyway, it’s a good plant to avoid. Panorama, f/2.8, 15 sec., 20 mm, ISO 8,000.
