Oamaru: St Paul's Presbyterian Church (c.1875) (1)

5 Coquet Street, Oamaru.

The first Oamaru Presbyterian church was constructed in 1865, but regular sermons had been preached from 1863 at the Hassells woolstore.

The first church was eventually demolished and the present church was built in 1875 over the existing foundations.

Inside the church are two memorial windows commemorating the world wars. The WWI memorial is a window in four lights in the west transept, while the WWII memorial is a two-light window on the west wall of the nave. In addition there are two extensive rolls of honour in the entrance porch.

St Paul's has a Heritage NZ Cat.1 listing.
