Billy Record 145/365
Our Daily Challenge "Blast from the Past"
145/365
I recently received this in the mail as a surprise gift from my cousin :)) It is the Billy Record 8.8, a vertical folding film camera with this particular model made between 1936 - 1942 in Munich, Germany by Agfa Camera-Werk. It takes 120 roll film in 6x9 exposure format. The lens is an Agfa Anastigmat Jgestar 1:8,8/100mm with 3 optical elements and an aperture range of f/8.8 to f/16. The shutter speeds are B, 1/25, 1/50, and 1/100 second. It weighs about 11/4 pounds and measures about 61/2 inches x 4-1/2 inches x 5-1/8 inches opened up as shown. The body is covered in black Rexine and chrome, and has a leather hand strap and came standard with a brown leather case. I read that this camera was a popular model, used by journalists and hobbyists alike. I'm going to bring it in to the local camera shop to see if they can clean it and help me locate some film for it.
3' Octodome + Starlite 1000w camera right high, 1.5' Octodome + Starlite 500w camera left low.
Exp. 1/25; ISO 200; f/6.3
Lightroom 3 B&W conversion, added vignette
