Jaeger-Bataillon

1907, a bit of an unsharp picture of a group of Jaegers. Most interesting is the massive Hirschfanger sword carried by the NCO in the middle. The stag handle is clearly visible, as is the green-silver NCO knot, unique to Jaegers. This was a type of light infantry, but literally translated as Hunters. Hence, the sword issued to the NCO is suitable, as it translates as a deercatcher. Hirschfangers of all sorts were used by hunters to finish of the game after being shot.
