In Treue Fest - Beautiful studio picture of a Bavarian Infantryman.

Nue-Ulm based photographer, note on the reverse

Unit: Very likely to be Kgl. Bayer. 12. Infanterie-Regt. Prinz Arnulf given the uniform characteristics (clearly Bavarian Infantry, likely to be line Infantry) and photographer's location

Rank: Soldier

Headwear: M95 (produced starting 1914 after the model of 1895) or M15 Filzhelm with an extremely clear Bavarian Wappen. You can really see a lot of detail on this one and read the Bavarian motto on the banner "In Treue Fest" (more or less Steadfast and True, but slightly different translations can be made).

Tunic: Clearly a typical Bavarian Vereinfachte Feldrock with a simplified cuff. Also note the Bavarian rampart lion on the buttons

Awards: -

Accoutrements: Backpack.

Buckle: Read for yourself: In Treue Fest, a clear Bavarian buckle.

Ammunition pouches: M1909

Armament: Gew98 with an all-steel Aushilfseitengewehr 88/98, without seeing it more clearly it can be anything from EB3-12 and EB36-40. One can make out the loss of fieldgrey paint on the hilt already. No wonder it is often gone nowadays.
