Town Hall, George Town

George Town, Malaysia, is a remarkable example of historic colonial towns on the Straits of Malacca that demonstrate a succession of historical and cultural influences arising from their former function as trading ports linking East and West.

The Town Hall of George Town is a civic building at Padang Kota Lama, Penang. Like most important buildings of the British administration, the Penang Town Hall takes pride of place in front of an open field, in this case the Esplanade Padang in George Town.
